We hope this temporary trip planner has given you a chance to get used to your new train timetable. You’ll be happy to know that our real time public transport apps and the Trip Planner on transportnsw.info are already available to help you plan your trip.
On Sunday 20 October a new train timetable will come into effect, changing both service times and frequency of both the Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink services. More than 1,000 extra services will be added to the timetable every week.

This app will provide you with the most direct services from your chosen departure time. Not all services leaving your station may be shown in the results (like services that require interchange or have longer journey times).
This app is only available for a short time to get an early look at the changes. From 22 September you can plan your trip with the new timetable on 131500.com.au up to 28 days in advance.
Over the coming months, a new shorthand is being introduced to help you clearly identify Sydney's public transport services and to make it easier for you to connect between modes.
Trains are orange
Buses are blue
Ferries are green
Light Rail is red
Each mode now has its own easy-to-recognise letter and colour so it can be identified clearly. Look for the codes. You will see them in timetables and brochures, on maps, on our website, and on public transport signage all over the network.
